Payroll, Compliance & Specialized Support
Practical support for the accounting tasks that do not fit neatly into basic monthly bookkeeping
Dunham Bookkeeping Services helps small businesses and nonprofits manage payroll, sales tax, detailed tracking, reporting, and other accounting needs that require more than routine transaction categorization.
Services are scoped around your organization’s systems, filing requirements, reporting needs, and the level of ongoing support required.
Specialized support built around your needs
Not every accounting need fits neatly into a standard monthly bookkeeping package. These services may be provided as part of ongoing support or quoted separately, depending on the systems involved and the amount of work required.
-
Assistance setting up payroll, processing routine payroll, reviewing payroll reports, recording payroll activity correctly, and keeping payroll-related accounts organized.
-
Support reviewing taxable sales, reconciling sales-tax activity, preparing returns, and filing with the appropriate state or local agencies when included in the engagement.
-
Ongoing accounting for nonprofits, including fund or program tracking, restricted and unrestricted activity, grant reporting, board-ready financial statements, and preparation support for Form 990 filings.
-
Accounting and reporting for solo and group therapy practices, including payment processors, payroll, provider-related tracking, practice-management systems, and clear monthly financial reporting.
-
Help tracking invoices, matching payments, reviewing customer balances, organizing vendor bills, and maintaining more reliable A/R and A/P records.
-
Class, location, department, program, fund, grant, or project reporting designed around the information your organization needs to understand.
-
Help improving bookkeeping workflows, coordinating connected systems, correcting recording processes, and creating practical procedures that keep the accounting records more accurate.
Availability and pricing depend on the scope, filing requirements, software involved, and whether the service is part of an ongoing monthly engagement or a separate project.
How specialized support is scoped
1. Start with the specific need
We’ll discuss what is currently being handled, what is not working, which systems are involved, and what outcome you need.
2. Review the requirements
I’ll determine the accounts, reports, filings, software, deadlines, and ongoing responsibilities involved. Some services may require reviewing existing records before the full scope can be confirmed.
3. Receive a clear proposal
Your proposal will explain the work included, what information or access is needed, whether the service is recurring or project-based, and the pricing before work begins.
4. Build a practical process
Once the engagement is approved, we’ll complete setup, correct any related accounting issues, and establish a workable process for keeping the records, reports, or filings accurate going forward.
Specialized support is designed around the actual work required. Services may be added to monthly bookkeeping and accounting or provided as a separate engagement when appropriate.
Specialized support may be a good fit when…
Payroll processing or payroll accounting has become difficult to manage
Sales tax activity does not match the accounting records or filing reports
A nonprofit needs clearer fund, grant, program, or board reporting
A therapy practice has multiple providers, payment systems, or reporting needs
Financial information needs to be separated by class, location, department, or project
Connected software is creating duplicate, missing, or incorrectly recorded activity
Your current bookkeeping process works in theory but keeps breaking down in practice
You do not need to know exactly which service to request. We’ll start with the problem you are trying to solve and determine whether it belongs in monthly accounting support, a separate project, or another type of professional service.
Need support beyond basic bookkeeping?
Whether the issue involves payroll, sales tax, nonprofit reporting, therapy-practice accounting, connected systems, or a process that keeps creating problems, we’ll start by identifying what needs to be handled and the most practical way to support it.
Ongoing bookkeeping and accounting services, cleanup projects, and tax preparation are available separately when needed.
